Goddess Wisdom: Yemaya's Story

Posted on 07:02 by Unknown
My spiritual path has always been rather Goddess-Centered. I remember a time when I was absolutely in love with Yemanya, or Yemaya, nearly a decade ago.

There was just something beautiful about her that spoke of comfort, of freedom, and letting go and with my turbulent emotions, she was just what I needed.

Her Story.

Yemanya is such a Universal Goddess. She originated in Africa and is now worshiped in Brazil as well as Haiti and Cuba in the Santeria religion. Who doesn't love a Goddess of the Ocean? A mermaid with pearls threaded through her hair.

Yemaya is a Yorubian Orisha, or Goddess of the Ocean who is the mother of all. She is the source of the water that gives life in West Africa. She is a protection Goddess and also resides over fertility and creation. She is a fierce protector of women. When you're going through a hard time that has a lot to do with emotions, this Goddess is a great one to learn from and to seek comfort with.

Some legends say that after being raped, Yemaya decided to end her own life. She threw herself from the top of a mountain and as she did fourteen Orishas, or Gods, emerged from her body and sacred waters gushed from her womb, giving the gift of water to the earth below, creating the seven seas.

What she teaches us.

Yemaya teaches us that things are always changing and that through those changes compassion and gentleness allows us to create and transform through the process. She encourages us to seek the Divine Mother within ourselves, that strongly protective, infinitely loving, aspect that is inside of us all and to turn it inward.

Yemaya reminds us that like surfing the waves, timing is everything. When opportunities present themselves, you must be ready. Embrace the rhythm of the tides and allow it to wash away your doubts. If you feel that it's time, don't hesitate, trust your gut.

Connect with Yemaya

Yemaya is often depicted as a mermaid or as a woman standing among the waves crashing on the shore. You can connect with her by holding a seashell up to your ear and hearing her echo. Visit the ocean, walk through the waves and allow yourself to be cleansed and comforted by her embrace and her gift to all life.

You can wear the colors blue and white, especially skirts, allowing the material to swish around your legs. Embrace the sensuality of the every day.

Singing, dancing, and drumming are also ways that you can connect with Yemaya. Anything that raises a happy, positive, vibration around you is perfect. There is one song that I've loved forever by SpiritSong Drummers and this one is perfect too!

She is associated with the moon, white and blue flowers, cowrie shells, pearls, and mermaids.

What makes you feel like a Goddess?

Posted on 04:40 by Unknown
My vacation from the retail job is coming to a close and as it ends I'm finding myself thinking about all of the little things that keep me happy, fill me with joy, and basically keep me sane through juggling 40-hour work weeks and my job here.

What makes me feel like a Goddess?

A nice cup of hot tea while reading a book by SARK is a favorite. So are luxurious naps and sitting out on my balcony enjoying the fresh air. Taking a walk in the early morning for caramel frappuccinos are also on my list of favorites. Here is a list of some of my absolute favorite ways to tap into Goddess energy. What are yours?

What's a Goddess without her temple?
One of the easiest ways to get me feeling all aglow and happy is having a living space that reflects that. I decorate in my favorite colors, make sure that my apartment is properly aired out with open windows, and that things are clean and smell nice. Coming home after a long day of work instantly relaxes me and makes me feel good. Keeping my sacred space comfortable is a great way to be good to myself.

Keep your feet on the ground.
Literally. Walking barefoot over the earth instantly forges a deep connection, grounding your energies, keeping you firmly in touch with in your body. Walking barefoot actually helps me relieve anxiety. It allows me to focus on my inner self and what's underneath me. I feel like part of Mama Earth. Sometimes I imagine I have roots coming out of my feet (if I'm standing) or the base of my spine (if I am sitting) and I imagine my roots reaching deep down into the earth, calming me.

Give yourself permission to dance.
I've sure I've mentioned this again and again and again but I love dancing and listening to music and moving my body. I've been guilty of saying that I can't dance, that I have no rhythm, but the truth is none of that really matters. It doesn't matter if you can't dance in a way that would please other people, as long as you dance in a way that pleases and makes your body happy. I put on good music and I let my body sway to it in a natural and intuitive way.

It makes me become aware of my body, of movement, and it makes me feel powerful and beautiful.

Hold space for someone else.
When I help guide someone through loneliness or sadness or heartbreak, I get deeply in touch with my own heart. When I sit and listen to someone tell me about their life or about their problems I hold a space of love and compassion for them and in turn it deepens the well within myself. I find myself developing a greater sense of those things for myself and my mistakes and problems as well.

Being a light for others and being a positive force allows me to truly see the change that I can be to the world and that is a good feeling.

Embrace your creative.
Whether it's being creative with words or paints or recipes for food, tapping into your creativity can inspire you to see the talented Goddess that you are. I love being able to make things, even when they don't come out perfect or the way that I want them to, being able to see my own potential and envisioning what I am capable of doing always gives me a burst of juicy mojo.

What do you do to feel like a Goddess?

The Gift of Hope

Posted on 01:16 by Unknown
I know that a lot of you, like me are sensitive to the news. You sweet sensitives and empathic lovelies see or hear something bad that has happened and it gets inside of your heart.

It hurts sometimes.

With everything that's going on in the world sometimes all you can do is sit there, holding back tears, wishing you could fix it and make it better.

It hurts to feel so powerless.

I keep reminding myself that all I can do is do what I do. Try to share my messages, try to plant that seed of hope or love or self-esteem where I can.

Pandora's story really resonates with me right now. When you think of Pandora what do you think of? Something bad right? The opening of a box that releases all that is bad and evil within the world. There's nothing good about that.

Her Story.

Pandora was created by the Gods, primarily Zeus, as a punishment to mankind for stealing the gift of fire from Mount Olympus. The Gods created her and made her beautiful. They dressed her in finery and beautiful things, they gave her skills of needlework and weaving, and they also gave her an urn, or jar. Inside of that jar was man's punishment. Disease, old age, toil, death, and other badness was contained in the jar.

Here was a woman, deceptively beautiful and fine, and she held all of that evil in her hands. She was sent to marry the fire-thief's brother and present him with the urn as a wedding gift. He refused to open it, fearing some trick. Out of curiosity Pandora opened the jar and unleashed all of the evils upon the world. It kind of sucks to be her doesn't it? By the time that she had closed the jar, all that remained in her hands was hope.

What she teaches us.

When we get to the bottom of everything, what we have left is hope. Hope that things will get better, hope that we'll make it through okay, hope that at the end of the day the world is a better place because you're in it. Hope that one day you will make a difference.

Sometimes it's all you have to hold onto.

Hope breathes life into the soul after it has been bruised and battered. Hope survives disaster and holds images of healing and improvement. No matter how painful and devastating things are there is always the gift of hope and renewal afterwards.

Connect With Pandora.

Tap into faith and hope to support you through difficult times. Look for the helpers, for the things that restore your faith in humanity. Look for the resilience of the human spirit, yours and others. Be the change that you want to see in the world. If you want something to change in the world, be the catalyst, embody those qualities and help others to discover them.

Find inspiration.

These things will make your day and probably make you cry, but that's okay.

Sometimes, security cameras catch something totally different.
26 Moments That Restored Our Faith In Humanity This Year
Stay Strong This is one of my favorite songs ever.

Let's all come together

Take care of each other
Stay strong keep your faith alive

Hand in hand side by side

With hearts opened wide
Stay strong keep your faith alive
Take a stand say a prayer
Stay strong keep your faith alive
Times like these
We need to remember what is real
Stay strong keep your faith alive

I Found God in Myself

Posted on 05:50 by Unknown
You can buy this print here
What do you find worth loving about yourself? Do you see any part of yourself as worthy of admiration? What part of you is Divine?

There comes a point in life when your thinking begins to change. When you realize that all of those things that you used to hate about yourself really don't matter. You realize that you are part of something great and big and lovely and worthwhile.

That turning point is different for everyone. Maybe you become a parent. Or you meet someone who really loves you and helps you to discover that you're worth loving. Maybe you just get tired of the self-hate and feeling not-good-enough.

Have you reached that point where you see something miraculous within yourself?

It's odd but I don't remember the exact moment I started to love myself, to see myself as something more. It was a gradual process, my thoughts about myself changed. My feelings about myself changed and I realized that I was seeing myself as part of this beautiful whole. I was no longer a part from it, no longer alienated from it. I started to see that I was part of God (the Creator/Goddess/Universe/Great Spirit/ect). I was a piece of that. It's like a big puzzle. You might think that the smallest piece doesn't matter but when you finish the puzzle you notice the lack of it, the incompleteness. You realize that the teeny tiny piece matters and you are that piece, you make it complete, and all of those other pieces, they complete you too.

“I found god in myself and I loved her I loved her fiercely” - Ntozake Shange

I encourage you to find that spark of Divinity inside of yourself. To recognize it, to accept it, and to keep it close to your heart.

There is something miraculous and celestial about you. All of those things that you admire about the Universe dwell within you.

They are part of you and you are part of them.

Do you see yourself as part of God? When did that moment happen for you? Is it easy for you to hold onto your divinity or do you forget sometimes?

Goddess Wisdom: Flora's Story

Posted on 05:11 by Unknown
It's Springtime and that makes it the perfect time to share Flora's story. It may be cold where you are (we've had days of chilling rain) but Flora is is about to awaken from her slumber.

Her Story.

Flora is the Roman Goddess of flowers and Spring and so associated with fertility and new beginnings. Her festival, the Floralia, is held at the beginning of May and involves flowers, dancing, and drinking.

I picture her waking up from her grassy bed and stretching as the sun's rays alight behind her. I see Flora as all that is good and sweet about Spring. I can imagine her smelling like clean rain and fresh flowers. I see her dancing around a field of flowers, happy to be uninhibited by winter snows and cold winds.

Flora is the one that playfully coaxes the blossoms to appear on the trees and the flowers to timidly shoot out of the ground. I can see her dancing through the countryside and gardens, singing and dancing and encouraging the seeds to awaken. Laughter follows her wherever she goes. I see her taking my hands and spinning me wildly around as she laughs, sharing the secrets of blossoms and flowers.

She has the happiness of a child and takes innocent, pure, joy at her freedom to play outside and enjoy the sun on her face. She takes breaks by laying down in the grass and looking up at the bright blue sky.

What she teaches us.

Flora teaches us that we've got to find the energy to wake up. Not just wake up, but wake up those dormant parts of ourselves. The passion, the joy, the childlike wonder for the things that we used to enjoy. What's something that you haven't done in a long time and you miss doing? It is time to wake it up and do it. Pull out your paintbrushes or start a new short story, sit outside in the morning with a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the awakening of the earth around you.

Flora is also a Goddess of fertility. She gave the Goddess Juno special herbs to help her conceive the God Mars. This is a great time to start something of your own. Think about the projects and the plans that are waiting to blossom for you.

Connect with Flora

You can connect with Flora in many ways. Go outside and bask in the early spring Sunshine. Start your own garden or buy new house plants. Sit outside, close your eyes, and listen to what is going on around you. Buy cut flowers and sit them in a place you can see them. Make a garland out of flowers. Listen to the song Flora's Secret. Open the window and enjoy the fresh air. Rekindle the childish joy inside of you. Have a picnic outside. Nurture yourself and encourage yourself to grow.

Journaling Prompts

What inside of you needs renewal?
What do you want to start again or get back into?
What is your favorite childhood memory?
How can you give yourself a new beginning?

The Time of the Maiden

Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
Spring is upon us! You may still be cloaked in snow, but something is starting to unfurl, something is starting to slowly creep up through the earth.

The world is beginning to blossom.

Change is in the air. It's time for something new. I love Winter for it's slow energy, it gives me a chance to rest and contemplate and relax, but I tend to lean more towards curling up with a warm blanket and a book. Spring brings with it a rush of new ideas and new motivation.

When we think about Spring we think newness and youth, and that is the realm of the maiden. Now is the time to focus on where you really want to go in the coming months. Start planting the seeds of growth.

What seeds do you want to plant this year?

This season represents new beginnings and those hopes and dreams that are floating just below the surface. It is time to make those things happen. You can get a candle (spring colors like pastels work best), light the candle while thinking about that beautiful dream of yours and imagine it coming true. Imagine how it would feel if it would happen, imagine every detail as you hold that candle in your hand. The candle represents your intent to make it happen.

You can also use this time to plant seeds, literal seeds, while thinking about those things that you want to happen. As the seeds grow and blossom it's a way for you to manifest your dreams and desires.

This is also a time to tap into our innocence and release our worries. We spend so much time being adults, worrying about this and that and everything else.

Do something fun, do something that relaxes you, and allows you to embrace joy.

Goddess Wisdom: Amphitrite's Story

Posted on 03:52 by Unknown
I've been feeling really drawn lately to my oracle cards, especially the Ancient Feminine Wisdom of Goddesses and Heroines deck. I thought it would be nice to feature the story of one of these Goddesses and Heroines every once and awhile.

Her Story.

Amphitrite (pronounced Amf-eh-try-tee) is the wife of Poseidon and Goddess of the Sea. She is the loud-moaning mother of fish, seals and dolphins. I imagine her voice sounds like the deep sounds of a whale underwater. Not much is known about Amphitrite as she doesn't play a great role in any myths or stories. Amphitrite is the Mama of the Sea, Queen of the ocean, nets tangled in her hair as she rides in a chariot pulled by two mermaids who herald her arrival by blowing into a conch shell.

I get a strong impression of her myself. She speaks to me in the guise of a woman swimming in the depths of the ocean, long limbs gracefully moving through the water, someone who is completely comfortable and at home moving through deep waters. She asks me to swim with her, she takes my hand, pulling me deep into the water. I can feel it rushing over my body. I can feel stress fading, I can feel anxiety dissipating, I feel myself finding the freedom to feel the things that are just under the surface.

What she teaches us.

Amphitrite shows us how to be comfortable within the depths of our feelings and how to navigate through those feelings. She puts us in touch with our psyche, with our inner turmoil that rests beneath the calm of the surface. She leads us through the stormy emotions that swirl within us. When you look at the surface of a body of water often there are waves and ripples on the surface but deep below is when you will find the most life, the most knowledge, the most wisdom.

Embrace your ancient wisdom. Embrace the depths of who you are.

Connect with Amphitrite.

You can connect with this Goddess by surrounding yourself with water. If you can visit the ocean or the sea, you should do so! If that's not possible, visit a body of water or even take a long soak in the bathtub with a nature CD playing in the background. You can go to an aquarium or simply meditate on the image of the Sea in your mind.

You can also sit by the stormy sea and meditate, or spend some time visiting humpback whales. Those videos make a great ambiance for the journaling prompts!

Journaling Prompts.

If you were to look deep inside of yourself, to the depths of your being, what would you find there?
What is something that dwells underneath the surface of yourself that most people don't know about you?
How do you deal with heavy emotions? Do you allow yourself to feel deeply or do you create distance between yourself and your feelings?
Imagine yourself diving deeply into a body of water. You have no need for breath, you can see clearly, you can move gracefully. What kind of things do you feel? Free? Anxious? Calm?
Write down what things you feel right now, and what those feelings mean to you.

“I must be a mermaid. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.” ― Anaïs Nin

Sisterhood: We are all one.

Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
One thing that I have struggled with over and over again is forming bonds of sisterhood, at least out here in the real world. It has always bothered me and it has always felt like there was something missing in me. Some trait or skill that was lacking inside of me. Oh the joys of being an introvert.

How many of you find it easier to connect guys?

I do. I feel like it's so easier to connect with guys. Friendships are easier, based on joking, and having fun, and I always know where I stand with them. Problems are solved with a fistbump or a good natured punch on the arm. They don't offend easily and their feelings are a  bit harder to hurt. Of course I'm generalizing a bit but that's been my experience. I always know where I stand with the guys.

Women absolutely terrify me. I never know what to say, I don't feel comfortable joking with them unless I know them very well and it's hard for me to know people unless I am able to joke with them. Once you get past that hurdle there's the work of keeping the friendship going. Making sure that you don't commit any of those friendship faux pas that you don't even know about until you're confronted with them.

I have a confession.

I'm a little bit wounded.

A few years ago I had a best friend. She introduced me to one of her friends and I became friends with her too. I had a falling out with the best friend and stayed friends with her friend. Imagine my horror and embarrassment when I learned that they were at a get-together one night and thought to entertain everyone by reading my text messages and twitter feed out loud while making fun of me in front of a group of people. My faith in female friendships died in that moment.

I haven't had a strong female friendship since.

I have been blessed by so many wonderful online friendships and connections but it's still in the back of mind: don't get too close, don't get too attached.

I've had a surprising revelation lately.

I want, I need, to heal that wound. I want, and need, to help others heal that wound. It's been in my head for the last few weeks, start a Woman's Circle. To which I answer back, "I'm afraid". What if I do it and the fear overwhelms me and I quit? What if I'm just not cut out for it? What if I won't be good at it? What if I'm meant to be a lone ranger? What if...

Gotta push past the fear right? Especially when you know it feels like it's meant to be.

I've bought the domain soulsisterhoodonline.com and at some point in the year it's going to become a reality.

An online Women's Circle. First and foremost I want it to be about forming bonds of friendship and sisterhood. So many women needlessly feel alone and friendless and that's just plain ridiculous. I also want it to be a safe place to talk about self improvement and our individual journeys.

Big scary dream.

I think the most important thing to remember is that we are all one, we are all part of the whole, we are all connected and a part of each other. There doesn't have to be distance, there doesn't have to be hurt, and it is within our power to heal that.

I Want You to Love Your Body Because...

Posted on 06:23 by Unknown
It's yours and it's beautiful.

Your body is beautiful because it allows your heart to beat, it allows your arms to hold and your feet to move. It allows you to do things that you'd never be able to do if you were just a mind or just a soul. You get to experience so much because your body exists.

Without your body where would you be?

I get asked all of the time, "How do I love my body?" It's a really simple answer, but I know it's hard to put it into practice. It took me a long time to get the hang of it. It all starts and ends with unconditional love. Unconditional love is affection with no limits or conditions; complete love. I love my body even on days where I feel "fat". I love my body when my feet hurt. I love my body when I am sick. I love my body at all times.

I like to put it in terms that people can connect with on a deep level. If you're a mother I want you to think of the first time you held your baby. Chances are, you fell instantly in love. Why is that? Because your baby was part of you, part of you partner, instantly worth loving just for the simple fact that he or she existed and was yours.

What about your partner? Do you spend massive amounts of time and energy trying to get them to look like Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie? Why not? That's the kind of person that we see in magazines and in the movies, that's what society tells us we should want in a leading man or lady. But I'd imagine that you love and accept them anyway.

It doesn't make you love them or their body any less does it?

So why do we constantly feel like our bodies are not good enough?

Why isn't it worthy of unconditional love? What has it done to make itself worthy of hate or disappoint or disgust?

I think that is the question that needs answered and sometimes that takes a lot of deep inner work. Do that work. Figure that out for yourself. Discover what's keeping you from looking in the mirror and being happy.

Your body is worthy of love simply because it is. Simply because it exists. Simply because it is part of you.

Maybe you want to lose weight, or gain weight, or shave your legs, or dye your hair, or build muscle, or get rid of scars, but at the end of the day, nothing essential changes. It's still a body and it still belongs to you.

Stop looking for reasons to hate your body.

Start seeing that there are so many reasons why it's worth loving right now, in this very instance, no matter what it looks like.

Your body is sacred.

Goddess Wisdom: Hebe's Story

Posted on 03:27 by Unknown
I've been feeling really drawn lately to my oracle cards, especially the Ancient Feminine Wisdom of Goddesses and Heroines deck. I thought it would be nice to feature the story of one of these Goddesses and Heroines every once and awhile. If you like the format let me know, it might be a new thang.

Her Story.

Hebe was kinda like the maidservant of Mount Olympus. She was the little sister, the young daughter of Zeus and Hera, representing innocence and youth.

She would prepare chariots, help her brother Ares to dress, and she served the Gods their Nectar coining her the Cup-bearer. She also served them Ambrosia, the food that kept them immortal, earning her the title of Goddess of Youth.

Hebe was the daughter of Zeus and Hera and when her time in service was complete she became the second wife to Hercules and he too, became immortal.

Hebe was also worshiped as a goddess of pardons or forgiveness. It is said that when prisoners were released they would hang their chains on her statue. Hebe represents all that is sweet and good in the world.

What she teaches us.

Hebe teaches us the power of being in service. There is something to be said for being wild, bright, and bigger than life, but there needs to be balance. There's always someone behind the scenes, and even though her role may be small it is no less important.

In her role as the Keeper of Ambrosia she encourages us to seek immortality but to also get in touch with our youth and innocence. She is all that is good and sweet in the world, she isn't jaded by life, she looks forward and sees a clean slate and limitless possibilities for all.

Journaling Prompts.

In what ways are you going to live on in immortality? What is your legacy?
What things nourish your spirit?
What do you need to forgive or pardon?
How can you embrace youth and innocence today?

Great Mother Dwells Within You

Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
Most women agree that there are several phases to a woman's life. In the beginning there was Maiden, Mother, and Crone. Times have changed, we're no longer married off in our teens to spend all of our days barefoot and pregnant.

As our lives extend and we embrace our power, more phases have been added. Maiden, Warrior, Mother, Queen, Crone.

Maiden is our phase of innocence. Warrior is the phase where we fight for what we want in life. Mother is where we find abundance, fertility, and fulfillment.  Queen is when our children have left and we rediscover ourselves. Crone is the final phase where we become the guide and a beacon of wisdom.

I am discovering how to be a mother when I am not a Mother.

I've made the decision not to have children and for a very long time I worried about how that would impact my sense of myself as a woman. That I would just float along directionless while all of these beautiful, glowing, mothers bypassed me with their beautiful, glowing, babies and actually made something of themselves.

How could I ever measure up? I have secretly always felt this sense of inadequacy around Mothers. For a long time I even felt like this blog couldn't be what I wanted it to be because I was not a mother. How could I help women to make time for themselves when I don't understand what it means to balance a life and motherhood? How can I help a mother love her body when I can't fully understand the changes that body goes through.

How can I be 'good enough' to help women that know so much more than me, have experienced more than me, and have been initiated into something that I will ever know. It took me awhile to see my value beyond that.

I think I've finally begun to discover the Mother Phase for myself and what it will mean for me. I'm not quite there yet but I can see it on the horizon and I know that it is meant for me. It is my path and I am looking forward to the moment when I set my feet upon it.

It is my time to nurture, to embrace the abundance in my life, to fall into bed exhausted but contented, to feel fulfillment in my heart and a deep knowing that I am living my purpose. My path is my own and just as beautiful as everyone else's, just as important. I know that now.

I have discovered that you don't have to give birth to a baby to create something wonderful or to live your life with purpose.

I no longer look at the future and fear that there will be a long stretch of nothingness. I no longer feel like my life has to be empty or I have to feel like something is missing. I have something to give the world. Something to nurture and something to love.

There is a mother inside all of us. Universal Mother, Great Mother, that spirit dwells inside of you. We are all part of that energy.

When did you first start to feel like a Mother?

I've got diamonds at the meeting of my thighs

Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
If you took my survey you might have seen the part where I ask you what you want me to write about. A lot of you wanted me to explore the Sacred Feminine, and you know what? I think that's a great idea.

What is the Sacred Feminine?

The Sacred Feminine is about seeing women as sacred and divine and exploring that connection.

I realize that I spend a lot of time encouraging you to see yourself as sacred and beautiful but I want to delve into the knowledge that all women are part of something sacred.

I'm going to start showcasing things that embody the sacred feminine. Stories, women, poetry, thoughts, that inspire you to see women (yourself included!) as this beautiful force that you are. Women are amazing and I think that when you begin to see yourself as part of that energy and beauty, then loving yourself will come easier, you're totally a part of that beauty!

I want to share with you an excerpt from the poem "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou. I saw it on facebook a few weeks ago and I was just struck by the beauty and the power of it.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

I love those lines, they just speak so eloquently of our value as woman and embracing our sexuality.

How do you feel when you read those lines?

Are you able to embrace your sexiness? Feeling sexy can be really difficult, especially if you have body image issues. When I reached adulthood my body image was so bad that I never felt sexy. Eventually I got my first boyfriend and the only time I felt sexy was when he told me I was.

My sexiness and my value was given to me by someone else.

If he treated me like I was nothing then that was the value I then assigned myself. It took me a long time to realize that it was my job to assign value to myself, not someone else. It took a lot of inner work for me to realize that my body is sexy, and that sexy is my own definition. I look at my body and I see luscious curves and smooth skin and jiggly bits and that is sexy.

I create my own definition and my own value.

How about you? What value do you put on yourself?
