Filling Up My Cup: August 24th Edition

Posted on 06:53 by Unknown
Tomorrow is the start of my body-loving challenge, the Body Beloved and I am so over-the-moon excited! So far this challenge has gotten the most sign ups of all of them, YAY! So sign up and join us!

I've been a very busy bee lately and it's good to have my reading time.

Here are the things that I've been reading to fill up that well of inspiration that dwells within me. Here are some of the posts from my favorite inspirational people on the interwebz!

When you use the "F" word you've really gotta mean it, even when it's hard to find that ever elusive Forgiveness.

Figuring out your life purpose isn't always easy. If you're struggling and need some easy tips on discovering your Dharma check out this great post by Jess!

I must be loving Your Super Awesome Life this week because I have two great posts to share with you: How to follow your heart (even when everyone says you're making a mistake) and what to tell yourself when you don't feel like doing those things that you need to do. (p.s. Ashley is so adorable!)

A very important lesson that can be learned from bamboo. Allow yourself to be flexible. Are you up for Gina's challenge? I think incorporating her philosophy into my life right now is going to be awesome.

If you've ever felt weird or left out because of your sensitivity or because you need space and time to recharge after being around people this article on highly sensitive people might help you feel better!

What are you reading this week? Feel free to share your own blogs in the comments!

Filling Up My Cup: August 17th Edition

Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
Hey there ladybug! Wanna know what I'm loving most about this week? Aside from my birthday and the beautiful weather we're having here in Oklahoma, of course! This song. Listen to it, for realsies, it'll make your day!

I am not the things my family did. I am not the voices in my head. I am not the pieces of the brokenness inside.

It gives me goosebumps. It's so beautiful.

The blogosphere is full of so much goodness that I can't possibly share it all, however if there's something you loved or something you wrote, please pop it in the comments!

Being honest with yourself is harder than you'd think. Sometimes I have trouble too.

When things go wrong sometimes all you can do is take a deep breath.

Crystal shares the really powerful habits that made her Grandmother's life awesome, definitely something we can all learn from!

Ohhh how I love Mara Glatzel, bookmark her people, she's great. This week she talks about loving your true nature.

Instead of being a motor boat let's be a sail boat and see where life takes us.

Another reminder that when you make life changes, they don't happen overnight, still, it's the most important decision you'll ever make.

And this - mothering + mental illness just because it's the most open, brutally honest, raw, thing I've read in a very long time.

What are you reading/writing this week?

Filling Up My Cup: August 10th Edition

Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
Hey there you fabulously awesometastic person you. It's time to curl up with a nice cup of coffee/tea/water/smoothie, put your feet up, and relax. Soak up these wonderful words from these amazing people.

I'd love to hear what you're reading (or writing!)

Pop a link in the comments and share! So ya know those things that make you really really happy and make your body feel really good? Those are acts of self care, 101. Confession: Over the last few months I noticed that I was depriving myself of yoga because "I didn't have the time". Bad Dominee, stop doing that Dominee! I listened, I stopped depriving myself, and it felt so freakin' good. How yoga helps you show up for yourself from Curvy Yoga showed up just in time for me!

The other day I wrote about how Facebook Comparison sucks, well Rachel has some great tips on How to stop comparing yourself to everyone else. Check it out.

There are so many simple little things that can change your life. I like uncovering and discovering them. Just A Simple Prayer can create ahhhmazing changes in your life.

Whether you feel like a Froot Loop in a bowl of Cheerios or a lone Cheerio in a bowl of Froot Loops, you should know that Fitting In Is So Overrated. Now I'm hungry for cereal.

I'm a firm believer in Western medicine working with Eastern, energy, whoowoo, hippy, metaphysical-y stuff (whatever you want to call it) to heal and create wholeness. Winter talks about Letting Go of the "Medicinal" Stigma and of not feeling spiritually "enough" because you can't conquer illness by yourself.

If you don't know what to blog about I have a pressie for you! I think that this is the BEST list of things to write about when you've got blogger's block. Seriously, they're creative, interesting and all kinds of awesome. Go forth and get your blog on!

Does anyone else feel the need to print out  27 Problems Only Introverts Will Understand to all new acquaintances?

Tell me, Dear Reader, what have you been reading?

Filling Up My Cup: August 3th Edition

Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
I am a reader, words have always, and probably will always, have a profound effect on who I am. I connect with words and they make my heart happy.

Here's what I'm reading and loving this week!

Jealousy is my Greatest Teacher: It's no secret that I love love love Mara Glatzel, she's always worth reading!

5 Enlightened Lessons We Can Learn From Our Computers: Treat your brain like you treat your computer and you might learn a few things!

What do you want to be when you grow up? You don't have to know what you want to be when you grow up. It's all right to take the time to figure it out.

The Secret is That There is No Secret: Want to know the best secret to success ever? The secret is there is no secret.

Yarnbombing for the kind but cowardly: A great take on a Random Act of Kindness, especially for those that like to crochet.

On My Nightstand

The Happiness Project: Now I read the first part of this book and I have a confession: I didn't love it. It seemed to approach things from more of a left-brained point of view than I prefer, then again the author is a law school graduate, so it's a very intelligent book and if you tend to be a left-brained thinker you might like it!

Proven Guilty (The Dresden Files): I love me some Chicago professional Wizard Harry Dresden. They're fun reads that let your brain wander off into mystery and magic.

What's on your bookshelf? What are you reading?

Filling Up My Cup: 7/27/13

Posted on 02:00 by Unknown
Every week I take the time to read. In fact, I read a lot. Whether it's inspirational blog posts or relaxing romance novels there's not a day of my life that I don't spend at the very least, an hour of reading.

Today I want to share with you what's filling me up.

These posts and books have made my heart happy, inspired me, made me think or made me smile. Let me share them with you too!

The Beauty in Showing Up Messy Mara Glatzel (who I love to pieces) talks about being open and vulnerable and showing up real and authentic, even when it's scary.

Watch with Glittering Eyes From the Sacred Middle, the magic in seeing the beauty in the mundane and the unlikely.

Could You Be An Empath? This post is me in a nutshell. If you've ever wondered what an empath is or if you are one, read this!

Stop Pretending to Be Superwoman When you hide the vulnerable parts of yourself you're not allowing people to fully connect. How showing your vulnerability can help others, which is something I've always advocated.

A Gem in the Muck Sucky situations can inspire us to learn more about ourselves. Jodi took a criticism and learned a beautiful lesson about herself.

Romance-y Reads:

One Dance with a Duke Tessa Dare is one of my favorite authors. Her characters are warm, funny, and charming and all of her books have me giggling the entire time I'm reading.

A Most Scandalous Proposal This is Ashlyn Macnamara's first novel and it was really good! The main heroine was really great, stubborn and opinionated, just my kinda girl!

So that's what I've enjoyed reading this week! What about you?
