Magic Manifesting: Ancestor Altar

Posted on 09:00 by Unknown

Happy Halloween and Samhain everybody! It's Magic Manifesting Monday and what a magical one it is! The veil between the worlds is thin. It is time to get a little bit witchy!

Today I made a quick video blog showing off my ancestor altar.

It's really about remembrance and I'd love for you to head on over to my facebook page and share your stories of your loved ones that have passed on.

I would also like to share the lyrics of the song All Soul's Night by Loreena McKennit with you.

Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound.

Somewhere in a hidden memory
Images float before my eyes
Of fragrant nights of straw and of bonfires
And dancing till the next sunrise.

[Chorus:]
I can see lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All, All Souls Night.

Figures of cornstalks bend in the shadows
Held up tall as the flames leap high
The green knight holds the holly bush
To mark where the old year passes by.

[Chorus]

Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
And moving to the pagan sound.

Standing on the bridge that crosses
The river that goes out to the sea
The wind is full of a thousand voices
They pass by the bridge and me

Self Care: Massage

Posted on 08:08 by Unknown

Good morning, Sweets! Here in Oklahoma the weather is chilly, perfect for snuggling under blankets and I've been doing that a lot. It's my own personal Heaven. I hope that you are enjoying the changing of the seasons wherever you are!

It's Self Care Sunday! Today I am going to talk about massages and how much I love them! My first professional massage was about six months ago and I was so scared and nervous about laying on a table, nearly naked, with a stranger massaging my body.

It's not as uncomfortable as it sounds.

At least it wasn't for me. Which is saying something because I suffer from anxiety. Being around people I don't know, and in new situations, has the potential to freak me out pretty badly. Although this blog post isn't about professional massage, as great as it may be.

This is about massaging yourself. Yes I know, it sounds dirty, but that is a blog for another day. :)

How often do you take the time to lovingly touch your body? To show your appreciation for the things that it does. I mean think about it... think of what your body does on a daily basis. It performs some amazing feats. Your body needs a little TLC every once and awhile.

I like to give myself massages. Give me a yummy smelling lotion and I am good to go. It's a loving practice and it fosters real acknowledgement and appreciation for my body. I usually do this after a bath. I sit down at my altar, my sacred space, and I start at my feet. I apply lotion to my foot and pay special attention to each part of it. My toes, the arch, the heel. I lovingly rub the lotion into my skin, being thankful for all of the things my feet do for me.

Thank you feet for allowing me to walk this earth.

Onto my ankles, legs, and thighs.

Thank you legs for allowing me to stand tall.

Onto my hips.

Thank you hips for allowing me to sway and move to music.

To my belly and my chest.

Thank you belly and chest for allowing me to breathe deeply.

To my fingers and hands.

Thank you hands for allowing me to create.

And so on and so forth.

It really makes a difference in how I feel about myself. I believe that when we are kind to our bodies our bodies are kind to us. Taking the time to be aware of what is going on with us physically is just as important as what is going on with us mentally.

You should give it a try!

Take care of you,

Superhero Mastermind Blog Tour

Posted on 19:35 by Unknown
Today I am participating in Superhero Mastermind Blog Tour hosted by the lovely Dee Morrison. The blog tour is to showcase female business owners that are making it happen! We're creating miracles and abundance and following our dreams! If you're new here at Blessing Manifesting, let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Dominee and I am very new to owning my own business, which means I am experiencing all of those fears and insecurities first hand.
The purpose of my business is to change the world. I know, that sounds like a big goal, but really it isn't. If I can make just a few people realize their potential, embrace the magic that's growing inside of them, then I've mad a difference.
A difference that can change the world, even if it's in only in the most minuscule way. It's terrifying putting yourself out there. It makes you feel vulnerable, but giving your gifts to the world, whatever they me be, is so fulfilling.
I am a member of the beautiful Goddess Leonie's Goddess Circle. Five or so months ago Leonie launched her Business Goddess E-Course I was kind of apathetic about it because I didn't have a business, nor did I have the drive to create a business.
I found myself being envious of all of the other Goddesses in the Circle with their fabulous ideas, creativity, and talents, and Riding their Wild Donkeys. As the Business Goddess E-course launched I realized that I was perfectly content with not having a business, not having a "thing". It wasn't the right time for me and if was going to happen, well I'd embrace it, but I wasn't going to hunt for some greater purpose or idea.
It seems as if not looking worked! I didn't think it would be this soon, I thought maybe in a few years I'd come up with a concept and everything would fall into place. It seems the Universe has other plans.
It's all about embracing what is happening right now.
Inadequacy and self-criticism are not your friends. Push past them.

This is from my blog post I Believe In You and I want to share it here too.

I believe in you.

I believe in you so much.

Don't let the little voices named Not-Good-Enough and Why-Try? into your head and if you invite them in, don't let them stay long.

They're silly little voices and they just want to cause mischief.

Believe in yourself like I believe in you.

I know that you can do it.

I know that there is so much limitless potential just waiting quietly inside of you.

Do you hear that?

Limitless.

Think of all of the things you could do if you just acknowledged that all of that was inside of you right now.

Don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

This is for you.

This is your path and you were meant to be on it.

Let go of the doubt, it has no place.

Believe in yourself and the world will begin to believe in you too.

Just believe in that okay?

Inner Peace vs. Inner Demons

Posted on 09:05 by Unknown
(c) Louise L Hay Wisdom Card
This week's Wisdom Card gives this message: "I am at the center of peace." and "It is safe for me to look within. Each time I look deeper into myself , I will find incredibly beautiful treasures within me."

During the Autumn and Winter months I tend to turn within myself and often time it is not peaceful. It is fearful and it makes me nervous, scared of what I'll find if I look too deeply.

I feel like I can't trust myself. That's a horrible feeling isn't it? To look into the dark parts of your inner self and be afraid of what resides there. I want to make peace with those parts of who I am. They are me. I want to befriend them, accept them, and make friends with them. I want to look inside and not feel turbulence.

I am telling myself that it is safe to attempt it. There is nothing to fear, those things can't hurt me, wound me, injure me, they are there to ultimately help me. It's that whole "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" thing.

I will find peace.

Do you feel like inner peace is something that you have or something that is in reach for you? Can you make peace with your inner demons?

There are treasures inside of you. There is good that can come from those places.

Seek them out.

Book Review: Glad No Matter What

Posted on 09:52 by Unknown
It's time for another book review! As you may or may not know, I am absolutely in love with SARK, also known as Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy (Is that an awesome name or what?) She is a fabulous woman full of wisdom. There is just so much greatness that she has to teach in such a loving way. Glad No Matter What is her latest book and it's about surviving loss and sadness.

As she adamantly states in the first line of the first page:

"This is not a book about feeling glad when you don't. How annoying. This is a book about finding and living from the glad parts in all of your feelings."

In this book SARK teaches us that we can experience a multitude of emotions at one time. Just because in a moment we are sad, doesn't mean that we can't be other things. We can be sad and happy. We don't have to commit to one emotion at one time. We can shift our perspectives so that we can experience more.

If you've never seen a SARK book I recommend you go to the nearest book store and open one up. The pages are hand written, strewn with writing in colored markers, watercolors and little doodles. It really feels like you are picking up someone's journal and reading all of the juiciness within it. One of the many things I love about SARK is that she isn't perfect. She admits to her flaws, fears, and doubts and lets you share in them.

Not only does Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy give you wonderful tools and advice, at the end of every chapter she provides extra resources, books, music, websites, and quotes. I love it!

At the start of the book is a Feelings Menu (how awesome is that?) There's a list of all types of feelings, and direction the the part of the book that will most help you deal with them. It's wonderful!

The book is split into several sections:

Section One: Glad No Matter What - How to acknowledge your feelings and begin to trust them.

Section Two: Waves of Love - Self love and self care. Taking care of yourself and being gentle with your feelings and emotions.

Section Three: Yes To All The Changes - Embracing change and opening your heart up to the experiences. Change can hurt and be painful but there are wonderful lessons and opportunities to come out of it.

Section Four: Singing Through the Storms - How to deal with life when you are falling to pieces and in the depths of grief. How to grow in the darkness. Allow all of your feelings.

Section Five: Learning to See In The Dark -This is about dealing with death and how beauty can be found. This chapter had me in tears in the honesty of the words and stories. There is also a wonderful list of things to say to people who are grieving.

Section Six: Transformation Practices This is about learning to transform the losses into gifts. Making a list of your losses so you can express and experience them.

Section Seven: Portraits of Joy and Transformation Through Loss and Change - Interviews with artists and other creatives about there experiences with loss.

This is one of my favorite books and has helped me through a lot of tough times. If you are experience grief or loss I fully recommend this book. It would also make a beautifully loving gift to someone you know who is going through a hard time.

Here's to being glad even in the face of sadness,

Magic Manifesting: Samhain

Posted on 08:20 by Unknown
Good morning my Witchy Ones! Next Monday is Samhain and I wanted to share with you a little bit of info about this very popular Pagan holiday. Most of you know it as Halloween or All Hallows Eve. In Wicca it is celebrated as Samhain (pronounced Sow-in) and it is a day to honor the dead and marks the end of the Harvest season and it has also been called the Celtic New Year.

It is believed that on this day the veil between the worlds, that of the living and that of the dead, is thinnest. It is a time that allows us to communicate with, and remember, our departed ones.

A lot of divination is done at this time, as it is easier to connect with otherworld energies and guides. There are so many great ways to celebrate Samhain and this is a perfect time to create an ancestor altar. An ancestor altar is a space where you can keep mementos and pictures of your family members that have passed on. It is a beautiful way to honor their memory.

Another way to honor your ancestors is to have a dumb supper. A Dumb Supper is the act of preparing a special meal in honor of your deceased loved ones, to make it even more special you can include their favorite foods. You set a place for your loved one and you can spend the rest of the dinner in quiet contemplation or you can listen to songs and music that were special to them. You can also put a candle in your window or on your door step (in a jack-o-lantern!) as an invitation to join you!

This would be a great time to ask your ancestors to guide and watch over you in the coming months. There is no wrong way to honor your ancestors, as long as it feels good and right to you.

This is also a wonderful time to do research or connect with Crone Goddesses and Gods associated with death. You could meditate on Hecate, Persephone as Queen of the Underworld, Morrigan, Anubis, Cerridwen, Osiris, and others.

Activities you can do to celebrate are of course carving (or painting) a pumpkin. That part is my favorite! You can also make candied apples, bake pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, You can dress up in masks and costumes, and of course trick-or-treat!

If you are into doing spells this is the time to do past life work, banish the negative from your life, get over bad habits, and protection.

As the days grow longer

And darkness falls

The fields are bare

The Croned One calls

Through darkened hallows,

where loved ones lie

It's time to honor

those that died

Seasons change

Always turning

To honor them

Our candles burning

If you are looking for more comprehensive information on Samhain the Majickal Journey has a great post listing all sorts of correspondences.

Have a wonderful Samhain!

What are your plans for Halloween? Any rituals? Trick-or-treating with the kids?

Self Care: The Perfect Date

Posted on 06:28 by Unknown
If you like piña coladas, getting caught in the rain, and long walks on the beach...

Hehehe, I kid, I kid. But this is about having your perfect date. One of the staples of self love is being good to yourself and what better way to be good to yourself than to pamper yourself and take yourself out on a fantastic date?

And if you don't like going out, then stay in and do something special. It's entirely up to you. Whatever makes you feel good and nourished.

Sometimes we need a break from hectic family life and sometimes we don't have anyone to do those special romantic things for ourselves. There aren't any rules that say you have to have someone else do loving, romantic, thoughtful things for you. I've learned to do them for myself and so can you.

As you probably know, I'm single and I love doing sweet things for myself. If I don't do them, no one else will. About once a month I take myself out on a date. I go to the movies by myself, I go get a relaxing massage, I schedule a day full of ice cream and painting, I have a picnic in the park, I make myself a fancy, romantic, candle-lit, dinner. All of these things help foster a good relationship with myself.

Loving yourself takes work.

So take at least one day a month to do something special for you.

It's important.

You are important.

You are worthy.

What kind of date can you plan for yourself?

Wishcasting Wednesday: Time To Play

Posted on 05:52 by Unknown

It's Wishcasting Wednesday, whoo hoo! This week's prompt is "What Do You Wish To Make Time For?" and it couldn't come at a more appropriate time.

Yesterday began my nine day vacation from my day job. I say "day" job even though I work 3rd shift, so technically it's my night job, anyway, it means I have nine days with no obligations.

It's going to be awesome.

I have so much planned, so much to do. My to-do list is currently a mile long. I have posters to create, ebooks to write, a million things to do.

My wish for this week is to make time to play, make time to let my inner child out. I don't want to get so wrapped up in everything that I forget to make the time to play. It's wonderful that I have this opportunity to work on things that make my heart and my soul happy, but I also want time to rejuvenate my spirit.

In what ways do you play? How do you take advantage of having time without responsibilities and commitments?

Book Review: The Body Sacred

Posted on 09:22 by Unknown
Two years ago I started a journey of exercise and healthy eating. At that time in my life I was 200lb and I was loving my body for the first time in my life. I was "fat" but that was okay with me, I felt sexy, I felt like I was beautiful just the way I was, but I realized that my lack of exercise and unhealthy eating was not being good to this body that I loved. So I made a change and I ended up losing 70lb all together. After that transformation you'd think I'd feel proud of myself, pleased with my body, and accomplished. That all of that love I'd felt for my body at 200lbs would be magnified at 130lbs.

Truthfully, I despised my body.

I felt like I looked hideous.

When you first start losing weight the praise is wonderful. You get so many people telling you how great you look and then slowly the comments become less positive. You hear things like "You're wasting away to nothing." "Do I need to buy you a cheeseburger?" "You're turning into skin and bones." Not to mention the comments about how you MUST be starving yourself or vomiting up your meals.

It's terrible. It's crushing. It's a sledge hammer to your self-esteem.

It made me feel ashamed. It made me hate my body, and it made me want to eat, eat, eat, and gain the weight back so that people would just be quiet. I started wearing the clothes I used to wear when I was heavier so that it was harder to see my weight loss.

When I was 200lb no one said things like "You're so fat you need to stop eating." "You're looking especially heavy today." "Do I need to buy you a muzzle so you stop eating?"

It's not okay to make negative comments about other people's weight no matter WHAT size they are. I'm not saying you can't be concerned if someone is being unhealthy, but when you are talking about how someone looks, be kind. Always be kind. Something that you mean as a joke can be hurtful.

The book The Body Sacred by Dianne Sylvan helped me start to accept my body. This book will help you feel good about your body regardless of what size you are, and that's the point! There are so many things that I love about this book. It challenges your ideas about body-image, society's image of what the "perfect" female body looks like, and your relationship with food. Even if you don't agree with some of the things Sylvan writes (there were a few things I didn't) it allows you to figure out what you do believe.

This book is 287 pages of awesome. There is heartfelt wisdom, thought-provoking exercises, rituals, and meditations that will help you come to a place of body-acceptance.

"There will come a moment when you must decide whether to continue hating your body and allowing others to decide your beauty, or to step up and claim the sacredness that is rightfully yours as a daughter of the Goddess. Perhaps you will find that moment while reading this book; perhaps you won't be ready until after the last page; perhaps you're starting at that moment now."  The Body Sacred - Dianne Sylvan, page 60.

That paragraph is right before a ritual that I have marked with a star-shaped post-it note and I think it was a turning point for me. It is a choice to feel bad about your body and it is also a choice not to. The ritual has you consecrate and bless your body, and with tears streaming down my face, I felt so much power in my body at that moment. I began to realize that I was Divine. I realized that my body was made from God and God is beautiful.

There are six main sections in this book and I thought I'd outline them a little bit for you.

The Reflection: This is all about getting into the correct head-space. Looking at yourself and seeing who you really are and becoming comfortable with your body. Acknowledging that the media is not truth and does not speak for you.

The Mother: is about nurturing yourself and your body. Pampering yourself and taking time for you. There's also a significant section about eating and how to have a better relationship with food.

The Healer: allows you to acknowledge the health of your body. It suggests things you can do to be healthy - breathing, grounding, getting in touch with your chakras, meditation, and healing yourself.

The Lover: A juicy section about getting in touch with your sexuality which is a big one! When we feel bad about our bodies our sexuality is something that suffers. Embrace how sexy you are and love your body, literally!

The Dancer: This was probably one of my favorite sections and it's about moving your body. Movement can be healing, it can connect you with the Divine, and it's good for you. Sylvan gives great suggestions on how to get moving even if you're not into the exercise thing and she suggests GREAT music. This introduced me to one of my all-time favorite artists, Krishna Das.

The Crone: This section is all about the wisdom and cycles of our bodies. There's a lot of wonderful knowledge about celebrating menstruation.

So all in all, an extremely well put together book, and one you should definitely have on your bookshelves. It is one of my favorites and combines all of the things I love. Self-love, magic, and wisdom. So let's say yes to loving who we are, how we are.

You are gorgeous and magical just the way you are.

Magic Manifesting: Magical Me

Posted on 08:23 by Unknown
(c) Julia Jeffrey
(c) Julia Jeffrey
It's Autumn and do you know what that means to me? Delving deep into religion, spirituality, and my magical practice. I've mentioned a little bit about how my spirituality waxes and wanes but I haven't really talked a lot about what I believe, so I thought I'd cover all of that here in this post.

I believe in magic.

Since I was 15 (which in case you are keeping track is 11 years now) I've identified as Wiccan which falls under the category of Paganism. Wicca is an earth based, duotheistic religion (usually, but not always) worshiping a God and a Goddess. There are so many different views on the religion and everyone practices and believes differently, which is something that I love. You define it, you make it your own.

Over the years my beliefs have changed and transformed and now I just consider myself Pagan, influenced by Wicca and Eastern Religions.

I am very spiritual, it's so much a part of who I am and I want to share that part of myself.

This is what I believe. I believe that there is a big ball of energy/power that is the Divine. To me, that energy is male/female, ying/yang, and manifests itself to me as God and Goddess. I also believe that all Gods and Goddesses come from that energy. Whether you call it Kuan-Yin, Yemaya, Thor, Ganesh, it is all real. I also think that relationships can be formed with those energies. I am very close to Aphrodite, Hestia, and Shiva and I feel like those deities guide and protect me in my daily life. They are part of the Whole/Universe/Divine Energy, we all are.

I also believe that magic can be done. In my beliefs, performing magic is the act of manipulating the energy of the Universe for a specific purpose. I use the energy inside of myself, and around me, to change things. I don't think it's easy, I don't think the Universe makes it easy. I can't ask for prosperity or abundance and then sit around and do nothing. Magic helps pave the way but it won't do the work for you.

I believe in prayer, which is speaking to Deity. I talk to my Gods every day in many different ways. Sometimes I talk to them out loud in a conversational way. Other times it's more formal, the traditional sort of praying. I chant mantras, a form of prayer. I write in a journal devoted to Aphrodite every day before I go to sleep. Shiva is a God that dances and sometimes I dance for him. This is prayer to me and it enriches my life.

I'm witchy and I like it. I can cast a Circle. I use herbs and crystals in my ritual work. I have an altar, I honor the phases of the moon and the cycles of the seasons. I want to share these things with you. I want you to share with me in turn.

So that's a little peek into my broom closet, I look forward to sharing my rituals, spells, thoughts, and practices with you!

Blessed be! )O(

Self Care: Blissful Baths

Posted on 08:31 by Unknown
Mornin' darlinghearts! It's Self-Care Sunday where I share with you something that I love to do to relax and pamper myself.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret.

I freaking love taking baths.

Yeah, yeah, showers are fast, convenient, and can do wonders when you're trying to wake up. But baths... hot water, candle light, essential oils, soothing music...

Can you say h-e-a-v-e-n?

Oooo and bubbles!!!

This is my number one way to unwind, de-stress, relax, and soothe my soul. No matter what ails me, a bath will make it better.

There are so many ways to make your blissful bath specifically yours.

Lighting Candles, candles, candles! There is something so relaxing about the soft light, the dancing, flickering, shadows, it creates a wonderful ambiance. Taking a bath in the complete darkness can also be such an amazing healing experience. (Be sure to be careful getting in and out of the tub, falling defeats the purpose of relaxing). I've taken a bath in darkness while chanting to this song.

Sacred Pleasure

One of the most powerful experiences ever. In fact, now that I write this, I think this might be the perfect ritual to perform during the Dark/Full Moon each month.

Scents Smelly things! I am a big fan of smelly things, especially if the smelliness is lavender. There is no scent that I love more. Usually, I will light calming incense and then I put a few drops of lavender or chamomile essential oil into my bath. Instant relaxation.

Music The song up above is Sacred Pleasure by Shawna Carol and is perfect for that "womb" feeling on warm water wrapping around you. Some of my other favorite bath-time songs are Ong Namo by Snatam Kaur, Baba Hanuman by Krishna Das and Dancing Shiva by Sacred Earth. But really, whatever songs and music relax you are good.

Bath Products My favorite bath products are from the Village Naturals. I am absolutely in love with the stress and tension relief products. However, you can use bubble bath, bath salts, bath powders, bath oils, and whatever else tickles your fancy. You can even make your own bath powder, all you need is 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of cornstarch and then an essential oil to scent it (optional) to add to your bath water to soften the skin. Body wash can double as bubble bath in a pinch, Epsom Salt is also good for soaking, especially if you have aches. If you have a cold and are congested adding Echinacea or Eucalyptus to your bath can help de-congest you.

Baths can be magical, they can heal, comfort, and relax.

What's your favorite way to relax in the bath?

The Red Tent Movie

Posted on 08:48 by Unknown

There is a movie coming out next summer called "Things We Don't Talk About". The movie is based on the concept of The Red Tent. The Red Tent is a space decorated in red that is meant to be an empowering place for females to gather. It allows them a comforting, sacred, space to share their stories, their trials and triumphs.

I love this idea.

I love the idea of women empowering one another. Comforting each other, keeping space, and sharing wisdom with one another. I think that's something that we as women need. We live in a world of "frenemies", we see on tv and in movies women hurting each other, being unkind, jealous, and mean. I'm guilty of it, I think at one time or another we all are. I hope this movie helps us to realize that we can have a sisterhood. That we can form good, nourishing, relationships and bonds that allow us to be brighter, wiser, and more glorious than we'd otherwise be.

It is my dream to someday run a Red Tent and I hope that one day that dream manifests into reality.

All My Love,

Thoughts Can Be Changed

Posted on 07:29 by Unknown
Wisdom Cards © Louise L Hay
Hello sweets! Things are a-changin' here at Blessing Manifesting. I guess it's that whole Autumn-changing-of-the-seasons thing. I've got some awesome things coming up especially for you. I've created two freebies to be released sooooon. (I'm so so excited about that, it's making me bouncy) I've also got some fantastically wonderful blogs coming up in the next few days (Magic, book reviews, creativity, juicy wisdom). I can't wait to share! So like me on facebook or sign up for my newsletter so you don't miss out!

Today I pull out my big mojo bag of healing tools and I share with you this powerful statement. When I first read it six months ago, something inside of me just clicked and I had this amazing wow moment.

"It is only a thought, and a thought can be changed."

Really? I can seriously change those?

It sounds silly now, but at the time that statement just boggled my mind. I was used to being a creature of emotion and upset thinking, controlled by said emotions and thoughts. If I was angry I was angry until it went away. I didn't make it go away, it left on its own time, when it was ready. (Usually after a fair bit of yelling, screaming, and crying on my part.)

There was also that horrible domino effect. You know the one... where you have that one angry/sad/anxious thought and before you know it the thought changes, gets bigger, brings its friends along and before you know it, there's an out-of-control pity party going on and you wish you weren't invited. That kind of thought-changing I was well acquainted with.

That I could take that thought and throw it out the door to be replaced with something good and nourishing? Well, it is possible. I've learned that now. It's not always easy, it takes time and practice, but it is doable. I was talking to a friend a few months ago about how frustrating it was that whenever I have a negative, unpleasant, thought I can't automatically turn it around. I learned something very wise through that conversation.

I've spent 26 years automatically gravitating towards escalating my negative thoughts. This is new... this creating joy, happiness, and comfort from negative thoughts. It's not going to happen overnight (which is very frustrating I might add) but it is happening.

I can do this.

I can be happy if I want it bad enough.

I want it really bad.

So here's to change, as slowly as it may happen, because it does happen.

Love,

Wishcasting Wisdom: Love Me

Posted on 21:50 by Unknown
Hello my Loves. I've been very quiet lately, shhh... shhhh... Have you heard the song 'It's oh so quiet' by Bjork? That's what it reminds me of. It's been that oh-so-wonderful time of the month and this month has been especially difficult. Ups, downs, cramps and mood swings. I've indulged in much needed "cave time". During that cave time I have birthed some really wonderful things.

I have 10 completed blog posts that are now incubating, waiting to be released out into the world at exactly the right time. I've rediscovered my love of writing and deepened my love for what I do. I've come up with a wonderful formula for this blog. Each week I'll post a book review, my thoughts on a magical topic, I'll share a Wisdom Card, and also share on of my favorite ways to indulge in self-care. Throw in a sprinkling of artsy and creativity posts, and there you have my blog. My sacred space. My online temple. It's going to be great and I am excited about it.

Today's Wishcasting Wednesday prompt is "How Do You Wish To Be Loved?" It couldn't be more perfect a question to ask me right now. I wish to be loved fully and completely.

I wish to submerse myself into love.

Soak in it.

Be engulfed by it.

I have a limitless supply, it doesn't all come from friends and family (although that is part of it) but it comes from within me.

My lovely little heart that shines, sparkles, and beats to a beautiful rhythm that is completely entirely mine.

Thump.Thump.

Love.Love.

I wish to love myself, completely, fully, and unconditionally.

I wish to release that love out into the world, engulfing me, engulfing you.

Love,

October is going to Adventurous!

Posted on 08:09 by Unknown
August was about being bold and strong, September was about embracing the magic, and October is going to be about grand adventures. The little doodle over to the left is all of the things that I need to be happy on this fantastic adventure that we call Life.

Life is a grand adventure and I have spent so much time being timid and not embracing this journey. I'm ready now, or trying to be. This month I'm going to try my best to be the Hero in my own adventure. To do things that I don't usually do, it's all about trying something new!

My big adventure this month is taking a bus trip to Tulsa (I haven't been on a bus in 9 years, eek!) it's about 120 miles away and I am going to go visit and stay with a dear dear Goddess Circle Sister for a few days. (I've never stayed out of town before!!!). I am so looking forward to this adventure even though it is new and exciting, it is also s-c-a-r-y but who cares about that right? The best adventures involve a little bit of fear. (Frodo and Samwise anyone?.... alright, maybe not the BEST example).

I really want to step out of my comfort zone and do things that are new to me. Last night at work a co-worker was very condescending to me and it made me quite angry. At the end of the night he apologized and instead of brushing it off with an "Oh, I wasn't angry at all, it's totally fine, don't worry about it..." I acknowledged that he had angered me and I accepted his apology. It's was a step in the right direction for me to do that and as little a thing as it was, it made me very proud of myself.

*Sings in a Diana Ross style* I'm coming out, I want the world to know, got to let it show. *Cue end of singing*

Anyhoo, do you have any special plans for October? How are you going to make it great for you? I want to know! So feel free to leave me a comment!

Love!
