I thought it would be cute to share some things about ourselves because I love getting to know you!

Gratitude For My Purpose
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
This month has been really big for me. My favorite month this year methinks. There have been some really huge shifts from a business mindset, I don't even know if I'd call it a business mindset, more of a life purpose mindset, which intertwines with my business.
It all started with this Monthly challenge thing that I run, which has completely changed the way that I think about what I do and why I do it. It has filled me to overflowing with joy and love and purpose and all sorts of other amazing things.
August's challenge was all about body love. It's been my most popular challenge yet (almost 200 sign ups!) and it has been an amazing journey and an amazing process.
Every morning I see women showing up in the group and talking about their bodies. To me, talking about your body is such an intimate thing, especially when there are things that you don't like about it.
Little ol' me, whoda thunk it? It's really taken my confidence as to what I can give to the world, and amped it up. What I love most about the challenge is that it's free, it's open to anyone that wishes to change their life or see things in a new way, or learn something new, and I love that I can do that and be of service in that way.
It also makes me weepy, but in the best way. I was looking at a body positive website that someone had shared with me, and I was really touched by the stories shared on the website and what an amazing thing they were doing and I thought "I wish I could do that." and then I got a notification for the facebook group for the monthly challenge, and I realized that I am doing that. I am making a difference too and I am so grateful that the universe has given me this life.
I'm just all around thankful. Thankful for the lives I get to touch, the stories I get to be apart of, the trust that is put in me, the vulnerability that is shown to me, the validation of the work I do, the love that I feel surrounding me, and the general awesomeness of my life.
This month has been huge in affirming what I do.

Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
As Autumn approaches (I am so excited!) I find myself turning more within myself, delving into my spirituality and allowing myself to get in touch with higher energies, you know, Gods and Goddesses!
Today I wanted to share the card Ganesha from the Gaia Oracle. Ganesha is a Hindu God who is the remover of obstacles. One of my favorite mantras to recite with my prayer beads is Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha (Om Guhm Guh-nuh-puh-tuh-yea Nah-mah-hah) which means Om and salutations to Ganapati - another name for Ganesha.
If you're feeling blocked or needing to overcome obstacles, try chanting it (108 times is traditional). Not only will it completely zen and bliss you out, but it puts that obstacle-breaking energy into your life. Listen to Deva Premal if you don't feel comfortable chanting it yourself.
This card is an omen for good fortune! Whatever has been blocking your path and keeping you from going forward, now is the time to clear it away and move on.
Whatever was holding you back, see it as a blessing in disguise, something that made you stronger in the process of moving past it. Everything happens for a reason, turn it into something worthwhile. The timing is right to start moving forward so take that leap of faith, do that thing that you've been stopped from doing and know that it is time.
You are protected through this process. Call upon Ganesha for guidance. If you having trouble getting past something or dealing with an obstacle in your life, spend time in meditation, allow yourself to be open and receptive to the answers that are coming your way.

The Little Beautiful Things
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
I absolutely love this song Beauty In The World by Macy Gray. It's such a good reminder to look for all of the beauty in the world. It's one of my favorite summer songs. Reminds me of taking walks with my mp3 player blaring in my ears and my body moving to the music despite myself.
What LBTs have you seen today? There is so much opportunity to notice the little things in life as you go out into the world.
The color of the water in a lake, the way a butterfly flutters around, the feeling of warm rain falling from the sky, the way the sunlight moves through the trees when the breeze blows by. The heavy, lulling sound of insects and birds.
It'll be autumn in a month, so enjoy summer in all its magic and notice all of the little things that are happening in your life right now!

Chakra Work: Throat Chakra
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
Have you ever been in a situation where you couldn't speak your truth? Where you remained silent? Do you have trouble speaking your real feelings or speaking up for yourself?
The throat chakra is the 5th chakra and it governs our communication skills, creativity, as well as our ability to be authentic and express ourselves. Physically it's connected to our thyroid, mouth, teeth, and respiratory system.
This is where we hold our beliefs about who we are. When your throat chakra is blocked you'll have problems expressing your feelings or you might feel like your feelings and emotions don't matter so you won't often voice them. You might feel like you aren't "authentic" because you'll have trouble embracing the core of who you are. You also might lie because lying is easier than speaking about how you truly feel.
You might need to do a bit of throat chakra work.

Have you ever used the "Oh, I'm fine, I'm just tired." excuse when you're really hurting about something?
On the reverse side your chakra might be over-active, which means you gossip all of the time, you don't know when to listen, every conversation is about you, and you don't know that there are times when a little bit of tact to get your point across.
You can unblock and rebalance your chakras with oils, crystals, meditation, reiki, and a few other ways as well. You can use crystals like turquoise, lapis lazuli, and chrysocolla to embrace the qualities of an open throat chakra. You can hold the stones in your receiving hand (usually the left one) and while breathing deep, let their energy flow through you. You can also lay down and meditate with the crystal placed over your throat or make a necklace that hangs around your throat.
You can also experiment with essential oils like chamomile, which can help you speak your truth, geranium, which helps you express your self and myrrh, which will help you regain a sense of your own voice. You can make these oils into a massage oil and rub it over your throat. You can wear it while meditating or going about your day, you can put it in a bath, add it to candles or diffusers, or put it in spray bottles with water to anoint your space with, especially if you have a workspace where you get your creative thang on!
As with everything, you want to find a balance.

Self Help Isn't A Dirty Word
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
A lot of people have mixed reactions about the term self help or self improvement. I embrace them.
Wouldn't it be great if we could all rely on each other and speak honestly about the things that we work on?
Instead, when we work on our "stuff" we often do it in silence, without allowing ourselves to seek out a support system, without being open about our process, and without openly acknowledging how much bravery we have to embark on that path.
I had someone tell me that if I really loved myself then I wouldn't bother with self improvement. Wishing to improve or change myself meant that I wasn't accepting myself as is.
Yourself included. I love my toes. Wishing to paint the nails bright pink to improve how they look doesn't mean I don't love my toes. I LOVE MY TOES!
I think it would just be really great if we could open up, show people that we don't all have our shit together, be vulnerable and real and honest and say "This is how I am helping myself. Support me in this process."
Self help is a really hard process, especially without a support system! It doesn't have to be that way, it doesn't have to be such a hard process. We can ask for support, we can have accountability partners, we can ask for what we need. It is my goal to continue to share my journey with you while encouraging you to start your own. I'd love to hear about your relationship with self help/self improvement.

That's just silly. You can still love something and wish to improve it.

Filling Up My Cup: August 24th Edition
Posted on 06:53 by Unknown
Tomorrow is the start of my body-loving challenge, the Body Beloved and I am so over-the-moon excited! So far this challenge has gotten the most sign ups of all of them, YAY! So sign up and join us!
Here are the things that I've been reading to fill up that well of inspiration that dwells within me. Here are some of the posts from my favorite inspirational people on the interwebz!
When you use the "F" word you've really gotta mean it, even when it's hard to find that ever elusive Forgiveness.
Figuring out your life purpose isn't always easy. If you're struggling and need some easy tips on discovering your Dharma check out this great post by Jess!
I must be loving Your Super Awesome Life this week because I have two great posts to share with you: How to follow your heart (even when everyone says you're making a mistake) and what to tell yourself when you don't feel like doing those things that you need to do. (p.s. Ashley is so adorable!)
A very important lesson that can be learned from bamboo. Allow yourself to be flexible. Are you up for Gina's challenge? I think incorporating her philosophy into my life right now is going to be awesome.
If you've ever felt weird or left out because of your sensitivity or because you need space and time to recharge after being around people this article on highly sensitive people might help you feel better!

Do You See Who You Really Are?
Posted on 05:19 by Unknown
Most of us have dark places inside of us. Those shadowy places wherein dwell the knowledge of the mistakes we've made, the things that we're ashamed of, and the darker sides of our personalities.
This oracle card The Mirror from Oracle of the Mermaids is a reminder not to shun that part of yourself. Don't pretend that it's invisible or that it doesn't exist because in doing so you deny the existence of a part of who you are.
Refusing to see the truth of who you are, those raw, dark, shadowed parts of yourself does you and the people around you a disservice. Don't get so caught up in your public self, the you that the rest of the world sees, that you forget who you really are.
Don't lose the vulnerability, the wounds and scars of your experiences, don't cover them up and camouflage them pretending that they aren't a part of you.
This mermaid encourages us to stand in front of her mirror and see our true selves. To love those parts of ourselves simply because they exist within us.
You don't have to wear a mask. You don't have to pretend that you are all love and light all of the time. You don't have to turn your back to the other parts of yourself.
It's okay not to be happy all of the time, to acknowledge that you've been hurt and you haven't recovered all of the way, to share that everything's not always okay, that you aren't strong every moment of every day.
It's okay to be you, all of you.
How hard is it to acknowledge that part of you?

Make Your Own Spa Day
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
Have you ever wanted to have a spa date?
Okay, let's do it!
In your own bathroom! Oh don't groan and roll your eyes. It might not measure up to your 5-star establishments but you can still have fun, you can still be girly, and you can still get your spa on.
Get yourself a nice smelling candle, because you want to set the mood and stuff, then head on over to the frou-frou section of your favorite store.
Body butter, body scrubs, face creams, lotions, oh my! Poufs, sponges, eye-masks whoo hoo! Be indulgent and get a few things.
Want to get a little creative? Make your own. To make your own bath powder, all you need is 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of cornstarch and then an essential oil to scent it (optional) to add to your bath water to soften the skin. Body wash can double as bubble bath in a pinch, epsom salt is also good for soaking, especially if you have aches and are in need of relaxation.

Smelly Stuffs: Sage
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
Let's talk about smelly things, good smelly things of course! Specifically the very cleansing, bliss-you-out smell of Sage.
Having sage simmering in an essential oil warmer or in a candle helps disperse negative energies in the room. This is especially good if there's been a lot of strife and chaos in your home life.
You can also get sage smudge sticks, which are usually bundles of sage and other herbs that you burn. When the herbs start smoking you slowly wave the smudge stick around your home, letting the smoke move around the space.
In its essential oil form (diluted with a carrier oil) Sage can be used for so many different things. If you have a migraine try rubbing a dab of sage on your temple and massaging it in (lavender works too!) close your eyes and spend a few minutes relaxing and breathing deeply.
Sage is also good for meditation, in ancient times it was used to help create a meditative or spiritual trance-like state. If you need a bit of a spiritual jump-start you might want to try working this into your spiritual practice to see if it can enhance your spiritual connection.
Sage is also a great oil to help with painful menstrual symptoms. You can make yourself a massage oil and rub it on your back or abdomen. One of my favorite ways to help soothe cramps (and you can do this with no oil at all or a different essential oil) is to make a hot compress. Take a washcloth and soak it in hot water. Wring the water out, apply a few drops of oil, and then press it against your lower belly. Cover the washcloth with a towel (right out of the dryer so it's warm too is extra soothing).
Taking a warm bath with a few drops of sage can help with cramps too, as well as help alleviate depression and headaches.
Remember to never use undiluted essential oil on your skin and this is not a substitute for medical advice.

Emotional Breakdown
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
Hey lovely face.
I've been doing a lot of soul searching and emotional work. (See: Unraveled) One of the things I've been working on is naming and identifying my emotions, breaking them down, and seeing what other emotions are hiding underneath that.
Or you think that you're feeling one emotion but it really turns out it's covering for something else?
That's the thing about emotions sometimes they aren't all that straightforward. Jealousy can mask itself as anger, shame can mask itself as sadness. Sometimes there's a primary emotion that's then covered by a secondary one, one that's easier to deal with.
I've been practicing saying "I am feeling ______ because _____."
Seriously, it works! Speaking it out loud is much more powerful that just thinking it in your head and it gets more results, and it allows you to uncover those real emotions that are lurking underneath the surface. It allows you to observe what you are feeling as well as put it into perspective.
I then look at my response to that emotion. "I am feeling ____ because ____ and it makes me want to ____."
I then look at that behavior and it further flushes out the emotion, lets me see where or who I am directing it. That initial action that I want to take is usually something that won't help me in the big scheme of things, such as saying something mean or laying in bed and crying all day.
"I'm feeling ____ because _____ and it makes me want to ______ but instead I will _____."
The last blank is something helpful and productive, usually involving self care, or sometimes it's a conversation that needs to be had or actions that need to be taken. That one sentence allows me to acknowledge what I'm feeling, accept what I'm feeling, and deal with what I'm feeling all in one, honest, simple sentence.
That's my formula for breaking down emotions, allowing me to deal with them in a productive way.

Filling Up My Cup: August 17th Edition
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
Hey there ladybug! Wanna know what I'm loving most about this week? Aside from my birthday and the beautiful weather we're having here in Oklahoma, of course! This song. Listen to it, for realsies, it'll make your day!
It gives me goosebumps. It's so beautiful.
Being honest with yourself is harder than you'd think. Sometimes I have trouble too.
When things go wrong sometimes all you can do is take a deep breath.
Crystal shares the really powerful habits that made her Grandmother's life awesome, definitely something we can all learn from!
Ohhh how I love Mara Glatzel, bookmark her people, she's great. This week she talks about loving your true nature.
Instead of being a motor boat let's be a sail boat and see where life takes us.
Another reminder that when you make life changes, they don't happen overnight, still, it's the most important decision you'll ever make.
And this - mothering + mental illness just because it's the most open, brutally honest, raw, thing I've read in a very long time.
I am not the things my family did. I am not the voices in my head. I am not the pieces of the brokenness inside.
It gives me goosebumps. It's so beautiful.
The blogosphere is full of so much goodness that I can't possibly share it all, however if there's something you loved or something you wrote, please pop it in the comments!

IT'S MAH BIRTHDAY!
Posted on 04:47 by Unknown
Today is a very special day in the House of Domino, it's my 28th birthday! I'm excited to embark on a new year, I'm excited to be older, in hopes that it translates eventually to wiser and I'm excited for birthday cheesecake!
It's time to dance around the house, be grateful for the presents and the time from the those around me, and be thankful that I've made it this far in one piece (well, mostly! Some days my brain might disagree). It's a time to be happy, but I know it's now that way for everyone.
One of my friends absolutely hates having a birthday, they hate having all of the attention put on them, they hate people going out of their way to celebrate who they are, they hate the money spent on gifts and it absolutely breaks my heart that they feel so un-celebrate-able.
We all deserve to be celebrated, to have a day when we are the center of attention, where people do a little bit more for us, and when we feel waves of extra love from those around us. It's okay to accept that and to embrace it. Just in case you didn't know.
Let's celebrate me and you today! I had an art day a few weeks ago with my handy dandy watercolors and I made you wallpapers for your phone and desktop. See above for what my phone currently looks like! It's loverly!
Be sure to download and share the wallpapers. You're free to use them for website/blog wallpaper as well as long as you give me credit. Check out the Freebies Page to download them and have a GREAT day, I know I will be!

Do you have trouble celebrating yourself?

Let the Sunshine In
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
Have you ever heard of the term airing-out your house?
This means opening up the windows and letting the sunlight and fresh air in. Letting it swirl around your space, chasing away the shadows, opening up the dark places.
You can shake the dust from the curtains, change the linens, and wipe down dusty objects. It makes such a big difference, it changes how your home feels.
The next sunny morning, open up all of your windows, pull back the curtains, and let the sun into your home for a few hours.
See how it changes the atmosphere. When you go to bed at night see if you can still smell the sunshine on your pillow.

Crystal Healing: Rose Quartz
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
I love self love because it's awesome and it changes lives. I also like stones and crystals, because well... also awesome!
One stone that really helps amplify those feelings of self love is rose quartz. It's like the Official Self Love crystal.
If you find yourself lacking in love, whether it's feelings of unworthiness or you just find yourself lacking an overall loving vibe, pop a piece of this in your pocket.
If you're fighting with a friend or loved one and you find yourself wanting to harness a little bit of extra kindness and compassion I definitely recommend this, especially if you are about to have one of those deep discussions or confrontations that could possibly turn into an argument.
Holding a piece of this stone or setting it on the table or in the room with you is not only a great reminder to act and speak with love and compassion but it helps soothe those angry, stress-fueled, vibes.
Remember when I was talking about coming unraveled? It is so easy to become frustrated with yourself when you're working on your stuff, that sometimes we forget to be compassionate and patient with ourselves and our journey.
Definitely add this to your Self Improvement Tool Box.

I've personally used this when I'm going through a hard time with another person.

What Do You Stand For?
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
Am I the only one that likes listening to loud, upbeat music first thing in the morning? It helps me enjoy getting ready for work. I was listening to Fun's Some Nights and singing along, loudly and off-key of course. When I got hit by the lyrics, in that way, as it happens with music because music speaks to the soul.
What do I stand for? What do I stand for? Most nights I don't know anymore...
That part made me sad because it reminded me of a time when I didn't know what I stood for and when I'd know that things were wrong and I'd do them anyway because I didn't have a sense of my own self.
When you don't know who you are, it's hard to know what you stand for.
When you know what your values are, and you act in a way that honors them, you stop being at war with who you truly are on the inside and how you decide to act. What things are important to you? What things make you feel guilty or at odds with yourself?
I have a challenge for you!
Make a list of five values that you stand by.
What things are really important to you? What nourishes you and makes you feel good about yourself? How do you want to see yourself? How do you want others to see you?
I'd love to hear what your five main values are! Share 'em with me!

Filling Up My Cup: August 10th Edition

Hey there you fabulously awesometastic person you. It's time to curl up with a nice cup of coffee/tea/water/smoothie, put your feet up, and relax. Soak up these wonderful words from these amazing people.
Pop a link in the comments and share! So ya know those things that make you really really happy and make your body feel really good? Those are acts of self care, 101. Confession: Over the last few months I noticed that I was depriving myself of yoga because "I didn't have the time". Bad Dominee, stop doing that Dominee! I listened, I stopped depriving myself, and it felt so freakin' good. How yoga helps you show up for yourself from Curvy Yoga showed up just in time for me!
The other day I wrote about how Facebook Comparison sucks, well Rachel has some great tips on How to stop comparing yourself to everyone else. Check it out.
There are so many simple little things that can change your life. I like uncovering and discovering them. Just A Simple Prayer can create ahhhmazing changes in your life.
Whether you feel like a Froot Loop in a bowl of Cheerios or a lone Cheerio in a bowl of Froot Loops, you should know that Fitting In Is So Overrated. Now I'm hungry for cereal.
I'm a firm believer in Western medicine working with Eastern, energy, whoowoo, hippy, metaphysical-y stuff (whatever you want to call it) to heal and create wholeness. Winter talks about Letting Go of the "Medicinal" Stigma and of not feeling spiritually "enough" because you can't conquer illness by yourself.
If you don't know what to blog about I have a pressie for you! I think that this is the BEST list of things to write about when you've got blogger's block. Seriously, they're creative, interesting and all kinds of awesome. Go forth and get your blog on!
Does anyone else feel the need to print out 27 Problems Only Introverts Will Understand to all new acquaintances?
I'd love to hear what you're reading (or writing!)

Allow yourself to be tender.
Posted on 05:01 by Unknown
I was so happy yesterday when my lovely early birthday gift to myself Oracle of the Mermaids showed up. It had perfect timing and kicked me out of one of those down-in-the-dumps bad moods.
Right after I'd excitedly opened it up and looked at all of the cards, I held the cards to my heart and asked for them to guide me. I chose Vulnerability.
Alright Universe, I hear ya. I have been rejecting vulnerability, I know this, and the card was a gentle reminder that it doesn't have to be that way. I have been concentrating on being "strong" and holding myself together that I don't even know the last time I had a good healing cry.
Sometimes it's easier to close off your heart, to spend your time being busy and working, so much so that you don't have the time to feel vulnerable. I've been telling myself that I'll be vulnerable later, I have too much stuff to do now. I've rationalized that being vulnerable is moping and ain't nobody got time for that.
I do everything myself. My business is 100% Dominee-run. I live by myself, I make my own meals, do my own laundry, clean the house. Often, I get caught up in emotionally supporting others and I forget that sometimes I need support too. I get so tired of only relying on me. It would be so nice to have someone take care of me for a change and yet I block out that vulnerability, ignore those feelings, stuff them down, and then go about life.
You feel like you will be abused or taken advantage of if you are open and willing to trust but to trust and to love are some of the most appealing and beautiful human qualities.
Holy wow that's so right on the money. This week I am taking that lesson to heart, opening my heart, and allowing it to be tender when it needs to be. Maybe creating a stronger support system around myself wouldn't be a bad idea either.

This is what the mermaids say.
There is an enormous desire to avoid pain, to avoid anything that leads to emotional distress... and yet, the very thing that allows such a thing to happen is one of your greatest powers. Your vulnerability is beautiful and others are drawn to it and yet so often you feel foolish and embarrassed for being vulnerable and you do your best to hide that tenderness. You feel like you will be abused or taken advantage of if you are open and willing to trust but to trust and to love are some of the most appealing and beautiful human qualities.

What about you? Do you embrace your vulnerability or do you hide from it?

How Do You Wake Up?
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
What's your reaction when you first wake up?
Do you jerk awake to the sounds of alarms blaring all around you? Do you, with a groan that sounds like a ravenous zombie, reach over to pound on the snooze button, only to be awakened by alarms a few minutes later?
Is that really the way you want to start your day? 365 moments of alarms, frantic beeping, or the radio blaring at you? It doesn't have to be that way.
Experiment with the noises you wake up to. If you use your phone stray away from the default alarms. Use a ringtone that you like. Pick a song that makes you wake up happy and want to conquer the world.
There's apps for that, there's alarm clocks that will wake you up to chimes or even nature sounds.

The word says it all: alarm.

The Wisdom of Turtle
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
A few days ago I was walking home from work in the morning after a few days of rain. I live in the city and I was walking over one of those bridge-thingies, ya know they aren't really bridges, just elevated roads with water that runs underneath them when it rains.
When I'm crossing that bridge-thing I always look down over the rail because sometimes there are ducks and I really like looking at ducks. That day I looked down and saw a turtle-disguised-as-a-rock moving underneath the shallow surface of the water. I stood there for a few minutes watching it move. What can I say? I enjoy turtle-watching.
I always like looking up the meanings of animals that cross my path, they're always good reminders to pay attention to some area of my life that I might not notice otherwise.
Turtle represents motherhood, longevity, and awakening to the opportunities that are around you. Which is all sorts of perfect for me right here in this moment. I've been retreating into my shell a lot lately but over the last week or so I've felt myself emerging and I've felt myself awakening to my creativity again.
Turtles are ancient and have been around for so many years. They are featured in mythology in many different cultures. In the east the top of the turtle shell is seen as representing heaven and the bottom of the shell, earth. As an animal that lives both on land and in the water, Turtle is seen as connecting the two worlds.
In Africa the turtle is a symbol of the feminine sex organ and sexuality and to the Native Americans it is associated with the moon and menstruation. It is a creature steeped in feminine mystery. Turtle represents the primal mother that resides in all of us.
Turtle also teaches us about cave time, or in this case “Shell time”. We must look inside of ourselves and know when it is time to retreat, when it is time to hide within ourselves and let life proceed slowly. Turtle knows that it has all of the time in the world to get things done. When turtle turns up it is time to get in touch with your true self, your primal self.

An Extraordinary Ordinary Life
Posted on 03:00 by Unknown
A week ago I was sitting with my friend and we were talking about Facebook envy.
In the past, before the internet, we usually made friends with the people around us, in our neighborhoods, with lives that were similar to ours. The houses looked similar, the people around us made the same amount of money, the kids all played together. How often would you have someone coming over to your house with a bag of polaroids from their trip around the world and the beach house in Maui they just bought?
Facebook changes all of that. We get an inside look at the lives of people all around the world who, without the internet, we'd never get to know. Which is such a crazy blessing, but it has it's downside now and then too.
We get to see pictures of those trips to India, the retreats in Bali, photo albums of the cherub-faced-angels that you never hear of misbehaving, the brand new house that overlooks the ocean and they all make it look so damn easy. If you're just an Average Joe (or Jane!) you might find yourself being a little discontent, wishing your life was more like that.
Suddenly you start to wonder if you can really be happy with your normal hum-drum life. The pile of dirty laundry calling your name, the screaming-fighting-in-need-of-a-bath-and-nap kids, the apartment that you can't even call your own because you're renting it, and vacations? Vacations are those stretches of time when you catch up on chores. Tropical vacations? Yeah, you wish.
Then there are the articles, websites, and blogs that tell you that you can have that life if you buy x, they have the secret and they are willing to tell it to you. Buying x can give you that ever elusive happiness. They have the recipe, just give them a few month's rent, stand on your head while speaking in Latin and sacrificing a few virgin princesses while you're at it and you can be happy and rich with a life just like theirs.
I want to show you how to be happy in your ordinary life. I want to show you how to make your ordinary life extraordinary. I want to showcase all of those ordinary things that create happiness, because it can be found everywhere, for free even.
Every week I'm going to post an Extraordinary Ordinary Life tip. A simple, easy, reminder for you to do something ordinary and allow it to make your life extraordinary. Those simple joy that get overlooked, the things that make you smile... let's embrace them and love them and be grateful for them.

The Happiness Project: Now I read the first part of this book and I have a confession: I didn't love it. It seemed to approach things from more of a left-brained point of view than I prefer, then again the author is a law school graduate, so it's a very intelligent book and if you tend to be a left-brained thinker you might like it!Proven Guilty (The Dresden Files): I love me some Chicago professional Wizard Harry Dresden. Where's Your Sanctuary?
Posted on 04:41 by Unknown
This week's oracle card is from the gorgeous Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle by Lucy Cavendish and Selina Fenech.
This card holds such an important message about stability, safety, and security, all very important things, especially for us sensitive people.
This lovely faery wants you to create your own sanctuary. Find a sweet safe place where you can take time for yourself. Just think of it, warmth, silence, comfort, create a place that embodies those qualities.
If you feel yourself feeling overwhelmed and anxious try to find that haven or sanctuary, even if it's only within yourself.
Take a walk and lose yourself in nature, go sit at a park bench and read, spend time in meditation, or with those friends who give you a solid foundation. Do something self-nurturing.
This card signals a need for solitude and quiet. Be very conscious this week of when you need to take a break. If you feel yourself feeling anxious or stressed out, make the time to check out for a bit and take a rest, whether it be curling up in bed with a good book or taking a nice long walk, whatever makes you feel good. This is a time for introversion, so turn within.
If you look around your home and it just doesn't feel like it belongs to you, or it doesn't feel happy to you, this would be a good time to do a bit of cleaning, re-organizing or decorating. Turn your attention towards creating that sacred space for yourself.
