Pray for faith.
It sounds silly, but it works. There's a musician, Jai Uttal, that I absolutely love and he talks about faith and devotion and the paths that we take.
Paths are rarely smooth or constant. Just like everything in life they follow spirals and cycles and circles. When you start to acknowledge that, it takes the pressure off, it gets easier to find your way again. Sometimes your heart will be open and sometimes it won't be. Sometimes you will have faith and sometimes you won't.
Imagine that you are walking a path in the forest and you get lost. You can do so many things. You can stand there, being still, and wait. You can start freaking out because you are lost. You can backtrack and try to find your way back, or you can just move forward, having faith that you'll end up where you are supposed to be eventually.
Even when it feels like you have no faith, praying for faith is the first step.
Prayer can be translated in so many ways. Some see it as meditation, ritual, chanting, silence, talking out loud, in sacred space, through sacred music, while kneeling, while in a trance, while sleeping, while laying down, or speaking different languages.
I believe in praying how you want and to who you want.
If there's something missing in your life and you want to fill that space, then start praying. If you don't know who to pray to then pray to the Universe to guide you. You don't have to have everything figured out, you don't have to know your destination, you just have to start the journey.
